YOUR BRAIN – In a recent study on the brain of you, it was concluded that studies opposing your views are more often than not seriously flawed.
“I’ve seen so many studies showing vaccines are safe and don’t cause autism, but I’m an expert at finding the tiniest flaws in them in order to feel completely comfortable disregarding them,” said Jon Stone, anti-vaccer and self-proclaimed expert.
As so often happens, studies and research which conflicts with our preconceived ideas are difficult to accept, which is why people will look for any problem, no matter how small, in order to claim that the study should not be believed.
“This one idiot tried to show me a paper about how GMOs have been independently tested and proven to be safe,” laughed Steve Lockyer from March Against Monsanto. “It took awhile, I’ll admit, but I managed to find out that one of the authors had a brother who did a semester at a University which once got a grant from Syngenta (an agrochemical company). Boom. Check mate. That whole study is completely worthless now.”
While anti-vaccers, anti-GMO advocates and conspiracy theorists are the best when it comes to this practice, almost everyone has the ability to do so if they try hard enough.
