FRAMINGHAM, MA – A mother in Massachusetts is furious at a local pediatric doctor and threatening to sue after her daughter was saved without her permission.
Bethany Markel, 9 year-old daughter of Elizabeth Markel, was staying at her neighbors house while her parents were away at a week long $2800 retreat on how to live naturally when she became very ill.
Her neighbor brought her to the hospital where she was immediately admitted to the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) of the Massachusetts Children’s Hospital. She was diagnosed with Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), a serious bacterial infection most often seen in premature babies which causes parts of the bowel to undergo necrosis (tissue death).
“Bethany was very ill and in a lot of pain,” explained pediatric resident Dr. Chase Neil. “She responded very well to the ampicillin and gentamicin and made a full recovery. It was really great to see.”
However, things are not so great according to her mother.
“My little angel was taken, without my permission, to a Big Pharma controlled doctor and got pumped full of toxic drugs,” explained Mrs. Merkel. “They had no right to force their so-called “cures” and “antibiotics” on her without my consent. Sure they quote “saved her life”, but they will most certainly be hearing from my attorney. That is MY daughter and she is MY property.”
At last report, Bethany was at home and recovering quite well. Her mother expects her to be well enough to attend next month’s Pox Party.
