Mary and Tom Budgell, parents of 5 year-old Seth Budgell, have been taking their child to see Dr. Rob Sears since he was an infant. Dr. Sears is known for his anti-vaccine, anti-scientific views and it wasn’t until recently that the Budgell’s realized how full of shit the good doctor was.
“He was recommended to us by our neighbor,” explained Mr. Budgell. “We were pretty deep into the anti-vaccine, alternative medicine world until one day we kind of just woke up. We decided we would actually do what is in the best interest of our son and not ourselves.”
The Budgell’s still bring Seth to see Dr. Sears and deny they have gotten him vaccinated.
“He asks us about vaccinations all the time, but we assure him we have done our research and will not be vaccinating our children,” said Mrs. Budgell. “That usually gets him pretty happy, but then he starts in with trying to get us to sign up for his monthly mineral miracle club or something like that. It’s pretty annoying.”
When asked why they don’t switch to a more reputable doctor, the Budgell’s explained that the office hours are good, they have plenty of magazines and decent waiting room coffee.
