A New York City man has put in a request to various media outlets (including TMZ, 4Chan, Imgur and Reddit) to ask for copies of the leaked naked photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and other celebrities. Martin Schrel, 24, has also reached out to the celebrity’s publicists and lawyers.
Schrel claims he needs access to the photos to complete his online master’s degree in sociology.
“I’m studying the effects of naked celebrities in social media” explains Schrel. “I need those pictures as part of my research.”
Schrel has not left his mother’s basement since the photos leaked more than 48 hours ago; he also insists that he needs to meet with both Lawrence and Upton to interview them for his thesis.
“I really need to sit down with both of them and conduct some interviews. So far they have not responded to me” laments Schrel. “I can’t believe they won’t help me. That they won’t help a young guy just trying to better himself with an education from the 4th most prestigious online university in India.”
Lawrence and Upton did not return requests for this story.
