TULSA, OK – New mom Julia Gordon was out shopping with her new baby, 2 month old Jackson, when she needed to breast feed him.
“I was at the mall doing a little shopping and I knew he was hungry,” explains Gordon. “There wasn’t much else I could do, so I sat down on a bench and breast fed him.”
Numerous people walked by Gordon as she breastfed her infant son, none of which stopped and said anything to her.
“Huh? No, I didn’t even notice,” said Lloyd Easter, mall walker and J. Crew aficionado.
“Yes I noticed, but I didn’t see anythign wrong with it. It’s just a mother feeding her baby” said Mike Fleming who was at the mall for lunch.
In fact, none of the people interviewed by The Spudd seemed to either notice or care that Mrs. Gordon was breastfeeding in public. Mrs. Gordon said she is very happy and somewhat shocked as well. “I have heard that a lot of mom’s get told to go in the bathroom to breastfeed…I mean, would you want to eat your lunch in the bathroom?”
