California has taken an usual step in the fight against vaccine preventable diseases by naming Measles as the official state disease. Measles will join The California Poppy (official state flower) and the California Quail (official state bird) as symbols of the great state of California.
“With vaccination rates dropping due to crazy and irrational parents, Measles is on the rise,” explains Dr. Alec Martinez of the California State Health Department. “Seemed like the next logical thing to do was make it official.”
The CDC and WHO encourage parents to listen to science and reason, rather than washed up celebrities and conspiracy theory websites when it comes to the health of your children.
