CHARLOTTE, NC – The Food Babe’s latest scientifically illiterate tirade came against the Girl Scouts of America for not giving into her fear tactics and doing everything she said.
The Girl Guides refused to change the recipe of their famous cookies to be all-natural and GMO free.
In response, Food Babe issued a series of memes and blog posts which basically boiled down to hissy fits. The Girl Guides then issued a challenged to Ms. Hari: a one-on-one debate with Sarah McCallister, 8 year old Girl Scout and lover of science.
To many peoples surprise, Hari accepted the challenged.
The debate took place last night in Charlotte, North Carolina and featured a series of questions around GMOs, chemicals, the periodic table, the atmosphere and carcinogens.
By all accounts, McCallister wiped the floor with the self-appointed Babe, winning the debate hands down. At one point Ms. Hari simply started naming chemicals that are found in various foods, regardless of their toxicity. Her reasoning was if they sound scary, they must be dangerous.
While a full transcript of the debate is not yet available, The Spudd Times managed to get a copy of the moderators response to one of the Food Babe’s answers:
Mrs. Hari, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
