The anti-vaccine community, protesting upcoming trials of an Ebola vaccine, say that Ebola is a harmless childhood disease. Director of Vactruthiness, Babs Fischer told The Spudd, “I survived my childhood bout with Ebola just fine. For me and my classmates it was a week off from school and nothing more.”
Fischer implied that the mere fact a vaccine was being tested, indicates the greediness of the pharmaceutical industry. “They only make money from new vaccines, so scaring people about mild diseases of childhood is how they convince people to take more vaccines.”
Saher Gee, founder of NaturalHolisticGreenHealth, told The Spudd that in fact there are likely benefits from contracting Ebola. “We co-evolved with these microbes and we tamper with them at our peril,” he said. “I have a study of one rat which shows that this animal- which survived the Ebola virus- went on to live 2 weeks longer than its non-infected cage mate. This proves Ebola actually strengthens the immune system and makes us healthier.”
