Dr. Jacob Howser, a 39 year-old dermatologist from Manhattan, snuck past security at Bellevue Hospital and into the room of Dr. Craig Spencer who is currently being treated there for Ebola. Dr. Howser entered the room without any protective gear and immediately was heard to shout “Oops, I guess I will need a 21-day paid quarantine now! What a terrible mistake.”
According to an unnamed security guard, Dr. Howser arrived on the Ebola unit with a suitcase full of DVDs, snacks, and clean clothes. After the potential exposure, Dr. Howser, who has 3 children under the age of 6 at home, immediately went to the isolation room adjacent to the one of Dr. Spencer, unpacked his suitcase, got into bed, and inquired of the nurses when his dinner would be delivered.
