In news which sent shock-waves throughout the anti-vaccine community, prominent anti-vaccine doctor Toni Burk actually entered a hospital last week to see a patient. The patient was 12 year-old Lisa Michaels who suffers from asthma. Though this was a courtesy visit and Dr. Burk had no role in the patient’s care, this nonetheless marks the first time a doctor known to be against vaccines has actually seen a hospitalized patient.
Dr. Burk, who spent countless hours as an intern in 1988 caring for hospitalized children, thought it might be “fun to remember those days.” Currently, Dr. Burk sees patients one or two days per week at her “Holistic Wellness Center.” Patients often spend hundreds of dollars per hour to see her there, and much of the visit time is consists of Dr. Burk and her patients simultaneously viewing her online store, “Skin & Vanilla.”
“It was weird,” said Dr. Burk, “kind of like going back to your old high school. I have really outgrown the hospital model and instead focus on helping my patients rejuvenate using their body’s own natural defenses against toxic chemicals like GMOs and vaccines.”
Several sources told The Spudd that no one was more surprised and intrigued than other anti-vaccine doctors who demanded Burk tell them “what is was like.”
