A man in Spokane, Washington caused quite a stir this week when he was seen throwing his hands in the air and waving them like he cares. Martin Hedley, 24, was listening to some 90s hip hop when he proceeded to throw his hands in the air as directed by the song’s lyrics…that’s when things went awry.
“Once I had my hands in the air, something just came over me. I decided I did care what I did with them” says Hedley. Witnesses say Hedley began waving his hands around in a distinctive pattern, going against the standard method of waving them like you just don’t care.
The story made its way to the desk of Dr. Mark Stevenson, a neurologist at Washington General Hospital. “As far as we can tell, this is the first documented case of someone waving their hands like they do care,” explains Dr. Stevenson.
Hedley experienced some backlash in social media, as hip hop/rap star Snoop Dogg tweeted out his displeasure.
Dr. Stevenson is hoping to meet with Mr. Hedley to perform some neurological tests.
