Writer and promoter of functional medicine Jimmy Maxwell, expressed opinion that “we are sicker now than ever before.”
“We are facing an epidemic of chronic diseases,” said Mr. Maxwell who was blissfully unaware that many formally fatal diseases, such as diabetes type I and certain cancers, have been transformed into chronic diseases because patients no longer die of them.
“Our children are sicker than ever before, and adults suffer from diseases at rates unheard of a generation ago,” continued Mr. Maxwell, happily oblivious to the simultaneous dramatic declines in infant mortality rates and corresponding rise in life expectancy which allow people who would have died of heart attacks in their 60s, to develop Alzheimer’s in their 80s.
Mr. Maxwell noticed that the “rise in epidemic diseases absolutely parallels the increases in the childhood vaccine schedule and the appearance of GMOs in our diet.”
