Subway to sell old bread to Yoga mat company

The story of Subway using an ingredient in their bread (azodicarbonamide, which is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in food as a bleaching agent and dough conditioner) was also used in yoga mats, was exposed by the Food Babe in a huge scandal last year. In response, Subway removed the harmless chemical from their recipe.

However, Subway restaurants found themselves in possession of thousands of unused subs. This past week they reached an agreement with Yoga Mats Plus in California to sell their excess bread.

“This is a great deal for both parties,” said Subway spokesman Mark Fresh. “They get our old bread to make yoga mats and we get a little dough in return.”
