Naturopath does not suggest supplements for first time in history

For the first time in known history, Jan Marks visit to a naturopath, Dr. Case Toledo, ended without Dr. Toledo suggesting a wide variety of supplements and an expensive battery of lab tests. Ms. Marks, a 45 year-old mother of 3, visited Dr. Toledo complaining primarily of fatigue and “brain fog.”

“Jan told me that she was really worn out,” Dr. Toledo told The Spudd. “I heard her story and it wasn’t hard to hear why. She has 3 young kids, works a full-time job, and her husband doesn’t seem like he is much help. She exercises 3-4 times per week and eats really well. When I talked to her further, it seems she is up late at night goofing off on the computer, and I imagine if she can cut that out and go to bed earlier, she will feel a lot better.”

Dr. Toledo did run some important lab work on her, checking her vitamin B12 level, her thyroid function, tests to make sure she was not anemic, as well as kidney and liver function. However, there was nothing in his examination of Ms. Marks which suggested that expensive stool and saliva tests would be of any benefit.

“When I saw Jan again, she had done what I suggested, and felt much better. It was a really satisfying experience. There was no need for her to take any supplements at all,” he said.

In a sad twist to this otherwise happy story, Dr. Toledo is currently under investigation by the American Naturopathic Society and is in serious danger of having his credentials revoked.
