Lisa Aran, a 36 year-old woman from Dayton, Ohio and mother of 13 year-old Joe, blamed her son’s heavy use of tissues on his recent flu shot. According to Ms. Aran, ever since she took him to get his flu shot last month, “he has been going through a box of tissues per day.” Ms. Aran said that she was devastated to learn that the flu shot had given her son the flu, and vowed that she would never do it again. The last time he got the flu shot, at age 9, he tolerated it without the increased use of tissues.
Ms. Aran complimented her son’s bravery, however, saying that he is very careful to hide his sickness from her. “He will take those tissues and disappear into his room for 15 minutes and come out like nothing happened,” she told The Spudd. “The brave little guy doesn’t want me to know how sick he is. And this will happen several times per day.”
