A man in Dallas is taking advantage of the Ebola scare in his home state of Texas right now, by calling into work with Ebola. The man has been ordered by his employer (in consultation with the CDC) to remain at home and monitor himself for symptoms for the next 21 days.

“This is awesome” the man said (his name has been hidden for the purposes of this story). “All I had to do was call my boss and say I think I had contact with someone who may have had Ebola and that I have all these Ebola symptoms now and bam! I get 21 paid days off work.” The man doesn’t seem to mind that he may be spreading undo fear in the community and hospitals or the horrendous ethical issues involved in what he did. “It’s not like anyone can get sick from me. I don’t have anything wrong. The only thing I have is 3 straight weeks of sleeping in, sitting on my couch and watching Netflix.”

The CDC is advising people NOT to follow this man’s example. “Please do not call into to work with “Ebola”. Especially not to get time off work and get caught up on The Walking Dead.”
