There is mounting international pressure on Liberia to do everything possible to halt the spread of the deadly Ebola outbreak. The Spudd has learned that Liberian officials have reached out to Dustin Hoffman in hopes that his experience can be of some help.
“We have contacted Mr. Hoffman about coming to Liberia to share his knowledge and experience in dealing with Ebola outbreaks,” says Umar Nu, a doctor fighting the outbreak in Monrovia. “We need all the help we can get, and Mr. Hoffman has already battled this virus…and won.”
In 1995, Mr. Hoffman battled an outbreak of Ebola in Cedar Creek, California with help from Cuba Gooding Jr. and Rene Russo. “It is that type of fight and determination that Mr. Hoffman showed almost 20 years ago that we need again now” said Dr. Nu. “He has yet to return our calls.”
