LOS ANGELES, CA – Jenny McCarthy has taken on a new fight this week. Along with her Green our Vaccines campaign, McCarthy is now fighting for a safer, less toxic form of Botox.
“A lot of people use Botox and it can cause a lot of problems” said McCarthy. “If not used properly, it can completely paralyze a part of your face and even give you botulism. All we are asking is that they make it safer. Take out the chemicals. Take out the Botulinum toxin.”
Botox is a brand name of a cosmetic Botulinum toxin, a neurotoxic protein which causes the sometimes fatal disease Botulism. McCarthy believes that if Botox companies made a safer, less toxic Botox, people would only be getting wrinkle-free skin and not paralyzed faces or botulism. McCarthy took to the stage at the rally and whipped the crowd of frozen-faced onlookers in a frenzy. However, many of her talking points seemed like re-hashes of her anti-vaccine rants:
“Almost all kids get — injected toxins — very early in life, and our own government clearly acknowledges that Botox can cause brain damage in certain vulnerable kids.”
“If the Botox companies are not listening to us, it’s their fucking fault that botulism is coming back. They’re making a product that’s shit. If you give us safe Botox, we’ll use it.”
“Us moms aren’t treating botulism, we are treating a Botox injury. And when you treat the Botox injury, the botulism goes away, minimizes or disappears.”
McCarthy plans to hold several rallies throughout California this month, and is trying to get booked on CNN and The Doctors.
