Hospital to install painkiller vending machine in Emergency Department

DALLAS, TX – Dallas General Hospital is being proactive in trying to decrease the wait times in their emergency department. The hospital will debut a painkiller vending machine set to open next month.

“A large percentage of patients who come to ER are just there to get more painkillers” said ER physician Dr. Jonah Howard. “This will significantly cut down the wait times for people with actual emergencies.”

The new vending machine will stocked with Tramadol, Percacet, Dilauded and Vicodin just to name a few. The cost of each pill has not yet been released.

Security has also been heightened in the new department because of the increased risk of break-ins.
