OTTAWA, CANADA – Pamela Fraser, a 28-year old mother of two, was shopping at Bayshore Shopping Centre over the weekend with her youngest child and needed to breastfeed.
According to reports, Fraser was going to breastfeed on a bench in the middle of the mall but was unable to find one. She opted instead to pop into a bathroom that was nearby. Unfortunately for Fraser, the bathroom was also being used by two other women.
“She just came right in with her baby, walked into the stall and started to…well you know,” said witness Marilyn Cowan. “It’s disgusting. I bet she also has that kid pumped full of non-organic food and vaccines.”
It was then than Cowan and the other woman in the bathroom, 74-year old Bernadette Stephens, called security.
“I’m not really sure why they called me to be honest,” said security guard Matthew Caldwell. “Women can breastfeed anywhere they want in the mall and we have a breastfeeding room too.”
Cowan and Stephens were reportedly furious with the lack of repercussions from security and started to cause a scene. That’s when onlookers got involved.
“All of a sudden there were a bunch of people defending me,” said Fraser. “It was actually a pretty surreal and nice moment.”
